Kyle’s formal training is in Chemistry, but he has studied composition with Anne Guzzo at the University of Wyoming. His works have been performed by the National Repertory Orchestra, The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, Colorado Chamber Orchestra, Sybarite5, and Soundiff. He has received recognition from The American Prize, Pikes Peak Young Composers and The Young Composers Challenge.

Music is the pursuit of the pure flow state. It is the tool we use to express what can be said no other way. It is focusing the mind on patterns and sequences to liberate the heart’s experience.

And this experience is inherently multiplicative. One musician weaving their contribution with another’s yields a product greater than the sum of its parts, each line reinforcing, contrasting, resonating with its counterparts. It is a distinct act of communication and solidarity.

As such, I gravitate towards the minimalist structures of interlocking rhythmic schemes in strict tempo. The pulse reigns—insistent and unifying—and within our entrainment, we weave our parts.

Oh, and I really love prog rock.
